Watch Gigi and Kendall’s outtakes here:
Performance art certainly has its stars in Marina Abramovic and Yoko Ono, whose groundbreaking live works have inspired many artists — and imitators. Kendall Jenner, on the other hand, is a newcomer to the art world. She’s played model and muse, but had never participated in an art project until she was invited to participate in W’s November issue. Jenner was hooked. In celebration of W’s 10th anniversary Art Issue, she dove into the dazzling history of performance art. First, she did her homework. Then she studied up on a few favorite works by Yoko Ono, Ulay and Marina Abramovic, and Yves Klein. Finally, Jenner was ready to pay homage. Her clothes were cut. She became a human paintbrush. Even BFF Gigi Hadid got entangled in Jenner’s latest obsession. Not all went as planned.

Kendall Jenner Recreates Four Iconic Pieces of Performance Art | W Magazine

Starring: Kendall Jenner
Featuring: Gigi Hadid and RoseLee Goldberg

  1. why did some haters think it was going to be a funny video? do u not see the messages behind these scenes, or are u too shallow to actually see behind the veils and and get what shes trying to express?

  2. I think the writing as far as comedy was funny but I think the attack on the performance art itself was cheap. I light and still do like Yoko Ono's 'Cut Piece'. It was risqué and daring and impactful for the time period in which it came out and it shifted I think a lot of performance art scenes gravity.

  3. Yeah by definition she might be a supermodel but it's not like she had to work as hard as any of the other supermodel she's with to get where it was given to her because of who her family was, it was textbook nepotism so don't clap back at artist who actually deserve the accolades. Funny but not your place.
