As a sculptor, Victor has followed a traditional road, by which drawing has been the backbone of his work, allowing him the exhaustive study of two-dimensional mediums. It is through these mechanics that he has approached Sculpture. He has been strongly influenced by the Mexican School and European Art and their imprimatur on his work is evident.
Victor’s first period was a study of the human figure. In the 1990’s, he started producing more organic pieces having Henry Moore, Giacomo Manzu and Eduardo Chillida as his influences.
At the beginning of the new millennium, the necessity to portray the wonders of human beings, (the needs, achievements, questions, answers, hopes, dreams, the horror, the beauty, and all that make us humans, make us part of a society, make us part of the world), drove Victor to the observe human figure once again. His work, since, expresses a different perspective and reflects his findings of the forms that represent the human body.
He is the founder of Amor Studio, Inc. whose activities promote the development of sculpture and its applications within the fine arts, commercial arts, in design and architecture. Some of the projects Victor Amor has developed include: jewelry (cameos, rings,), theatrical masks; sculptures for: stores (Disney Stores, Universal City Walk, The World of Coca-Cola,), theme parks (Disneyland, Six Flags, Universal Studios,...), TV commercials (Mr. Peanut, Clorox,...), TV programs (Jeopardy); sculpture pieces for floats for parades such as The Tournament of Roses and the Mexican Independence Day at East L.A.; as well as, architectural details for casinos (Paris Casino, Treasure Island, MGM Hotel Casino, ...) and theme parks (Disney’s California Adventure).
