Veronika Constantine was born in Germany and came to the United States in 1970 and currently resides in Los Angeles. Since her arrival in the USA, she has been involved in the visual arts. Having come from a musical background, she creates her "melody" in each work with rhythm, color, line and pauses.
She enjoys working in different media including watercolors, acrylics, collages, mono prints, and sculptures. Her work combines an extensive and expressive range of spontaneous gestures and textural richness. It is indicative of life's emotional, physical, and metaphysical journeyswith its positives and negatives, happiness and sadness, its beauty, its harmony, its lightness and its darkness. "As an artist, I am frequently asked about the significance and meaning of my work. In reply, I like to say that I use my perception in creating images which have a special meaning to me, but I leave to each viewer his/her own interpretation of my work. I feel that each individual's impression of the piece is as equally important as mine. Each viewer brings his own life experiences and extracts his own meaning from the work. Art allows you to get in touch with your innermost feelings. Because of this, it speaks differently to all of us. It is essential to allow solitude and time to listen to what it communicates."
