Seda Baghdasarian is a visualist – painter, photographer, experimental filmmaker, art director and designer – whose life vision is to advocate the beauty of the world through art and education. Her quest is to bring healing and learning to all mankind by expressing her vision of the human condition and by capturing the true essence of the physical and spiritual world we all inhabit and share. Seda is an active philanthropist who travels the world using her artwork and energy to help disadvantaged populations around the globe.

Born in Teheran, and raised in UK, she graduated with first-class honors degree in Architecture and Interior Design from London Metropolitan University in 1982. After a brief period of working for Channel 4 Films as a documentary filmmaker, she immigrated to the States and began a 20-year career in large-scale corporate, retail, & concept/themed-entertainment design for major Hollywood studios. Projects included Islands of Adventure Theme Park in Orlando, Universal Studios Japan, as well as other creative film based venues.

Returning to her passion for painting & photography, he studied with award-winning artist and filmmaker Arthur Bjorn Egeli, who apprenticed color with American master impressionist Henry Hensche.

In her travels to Armenia, she studied with Armenian impressionist Armen Atayan, a master painter who taught academic painting for over four decades, at the Repin academy in Moscow.  An award winning photographer, Seda has visited and documented some of the world’s most sacred places. She is strongly committed to the education of young minds, renovating village schools in Armenia and Peru, and in support of the arts, conservation and the environment. The artist lives and works in Malibu, California, painting and recording her journey every day.

Artist Statement: “I am moved by the natural world, earth sky and sea, with all its beauty and mystery. I aim to promote the appreciation & conservation of our natural environment through painting, photography and other art forms. Sometimes the inspiration to recreate nature is effortless, like the miracle of light and shadow, a surprise spray of spring color, sparkle of waves or fog in the trees. Other times, I am on an intentional quest to capture the glory in a far corner of the earth. When I see it, ineffably, I am elated to a magical place. My methods are simple: I am present and observe. I work fast to savor the moment, aiming to echo and portray the wonder with brush or lens. I aim to find the expressions of light, harmony and wonder and how it makes me feel, where dream becomes reality and reality becomes a dream - I take time to ponder their true essence. Losing this edge allows me to journey into a new visionary space, and transform through art.”
