"Sarah Stone is descended from a small tribe of artistic nomads which originated in what is now Tanzania. Her ancestors traveled, first north through Europe, then east into
Central Asia, always in search of better opportunities. Not much is known of their activities during this turbulent period except that several divergent family groups emerged which included Vikings, Celts, Cossacks, and some whose heritage remains in question.
As the twentieth century approached, the more restless members of these clans set off for Ontario, Canada, ultimately to arrive in Detroit.
Forging their way into their new continent her tribal kinsmen became wranglers, rum runners, cowboys and carnies. She draws her creative inspirations from these roots.
Sarah's talented career has spanned two decades producing commercial art for advertising agencies in New York and Los Angeles, designing props and sets for Hollywood films and Set Decorating (IATSE local 44) television shows.
She now works full time creating and showing her artwork. Her studio is located in a rustic canyon of the Santa Susana Mountains."
