Peyman Pojhan was born in Mashhad, Iran in 1976. He started his studies in Civil Engineering in 1996 but it was in that same year, at the outset of his academic studies, that he realized that his greatest enthusiasm and passion was for art and sculpture. While still pursuing his degree, he devoted as much time as possible to his artwork and by 1999 had acquired a reputation as a sculptor, and especially for his public art installations. His sculptures were commissioned by regional city halls and set up in public buildings and community areas.

In 2001 he obtained his BS of Civil Engineering. It is his understanding of structural design and theory as a qualified engineer that Peyman blends with his artistic capabilities to build his own unique sculptures. It is the combination of his skilled, creative hands, his boundless imaginative mind, and his perception of structural possibilities that come together to create the unbelievable in his work.

By 2005 he had built more than 20 large scale sculptures in major cities of Iran. In 2006 he held two solo galleries, one in Sa'd Abad palace of Tehran and another in the Mexican embassy of Iran, introducing Mexican culture to the Iranians. Peyman has worked with Parvis Tanavoli and have been privileged by Tanavoli’s guidance.
In 2007 love and romance brought him to Los Angeles. Since being in LA, the city, its artistic community and culture have had a great influence on his work as well. Being in such a diverse city such as Los Angeles has further broadened his horizons, not just in art, but in all aspects.

In September 2008 he presented his piece - “love” in Las Vegas at the ArtExpo and received enthusiast acclaim from the attendance. Peyman is especially thankful to the two mentors who have supported and guided him and his work over the years. The expertise of these two art masters has been invaluable and he is privileged to acknowledge them as they guide him through his journey: Parviz Tanavoli and Hessam Abrishami.

Peyman Pojhan  has always experimented with new materials with which to create new sculptures. His works range in size from the hand held to the gigantic. Each piece is designed not only as a work of art but also to give artistic expression to the materials used – to exploit the inherent structural aesthetic quality. He has worked with a variety of materials and is an expert in a wide range of techniques.

has not been in Los Angeles for very long and he is determined to prove himself and his art to a new and free society, just as he did in his native Iran.
