Lila French was born and raised in New Orleans. She attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T), graduating after four years with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. At M.I.T she became a star on the Women’s track & Field Team competing in pole vaulting and in heptathlon events.
After college, Lila moved to San Francisco to work at a dot-com, all the while continuing to train and compete as a pole-vaulter. At a certain moment she started doing contract web development work, which gave her more time and flexibility to focus on her passion for athletics.
From San Francisco Lila moved to Jonesboro, Arkansas to train with some of the world's best at Bell Athletics. After two years in Jonesboro she returned to Massachusetts where she continued to train at MIT. Unfortunately her career in athletics was cut short and she was unable to pursue continue to compete at the highest levels.
In August of 2004, Lila French moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. Within weeks of arriving, she started at the Beverly Hills Playhouse, where she has studied for the past six years.
Her life journey in L.A. has a story of its own. At the end of 2008, she stumbled upon a meditation class, which had a profoundly transformative effect on her life. Since then, she practices Ashtanga yoga with an emphasis on meditation and studies the work of various spiritual teachers.
Since arriving in Los Angeles she has developed her acting career and launched herself into a new found passion –painting. Her work reflects her search for spiritual wellbeing, tranquility and happiness
