Lee Jordan has worked with art for more than 30 years in a variety of media, from digital media through paint, stone and paper. He has taught graphics programs and continues to use and build digital art.

As a self taught artist, developing his own style at his own pace, he has explored a wide range of forms and media - fearing neither criticism nor failure. His influences are the greats like Henry Moore, Constantin Brancusi and Pablo Picasso with whom he shares the honoring of form, the love of material, the worship of the figure and the abstraction of life.

From 1986 until 2004 he studied exclusively with Robert Cunningham at the Cunningham Studio in Culver City, CA. He continued to develop his creative vision at the Teale Street Sculpture Studio with George Layafette, working side by side with another thirty or so accomplished and very talented sculptors. Recently Lee has established his own studio and works from there.

“I work in stone, metal, clay, resin, concrete and whatever else I can find to shape. When I approach a piece of stone or wood, I look to bring out the aesthetic beauty inherent in the material. I study the piece before commencing work, so that I can create from it a form that utilizes the shape to its fullest while imposing my will, creativity and design upon it.
To me, the feeling and texture of the material allows me to intertwine the smooth and rough aspects of each sculpture. It is a sensual and very demanding emotional creative process. I believe that, in part, it is that aura of sensuality that draws in and entices the viewer to want to touch and tangibly explore the finished creation.

Lee Jordan’s sculptures have been acquired by many private collectors.
