
Born in Japan, Keiko started oil painting at age 12. She earned a BA in English literature at Aichi Shukutoku University in Japan. Her first painting sold in 1985. She learned pastel paining from a private tutor in 1987 and pastel became her favorite media.
Painting has been always Keiko’s passion. She moved to London in 1993 where she studied Art, English and Business while working for a magazine as an illustrator. She returned to Japan and moved to California in 1998.
In California Keiko studied plein air painting in a variety of media with artist Erik Sandberg, who inspired her with his talent and enthusiasm.
Currently, Keiko studies fine art at the Art Center in Pasadena where she experiments with abstract painting and also collage introduced to her by artist Jane Asari.
