Katina Desmond is a multi disciplinary artist working in several media including photography, oil, pastel, collage, digital and graphic design. Her work is included in numerous public, private, national and international collections.

 

Katina’s imagery ranges from diverse forms of nature to mysterious symbolism of cultural iconography. Predominantly drawn to the abstract, ethereal and emotive qualities of black and white photography, Katina often transforms her images by painting on them with oils.

 

Katina was raised in the mountains of Topanga Canyon, California, where she developed an affinity with nature. Her parents were professional artists, and her grandfather was an avid photographer of the Alaskan wilderness in the early 1900s. She was given her first camera at the age of eight.
