ARTIST’S STATEMENT
My work is heavily textured and multi-layered creating an effect of earthy tangible surfaces. Throughout, there is a connecting theme, a through-line that offers a trans-substantial aspect. Light is all important. The universal constant of light creates a dance of color and form that manifests itself in a dreamlike conveyance of everything from the ethereal to the whimsy to the dramatic. I'm interested in the spirit and our connection to the earth, to animals, to places and to the science of love and healing.
EXHIBITIONS & EVENTS
2009 Eva directed "EarthTribe: DreamDeer, LaughingBear" and others at Pierce Spring Dance Concert - in this theatrical performance art presentation Eva's soft sculpture, masks and artwork are utilized to tell the story of modern man as an EarthTribe in relationship with nature. Animals, forces of nature and human spirit express the need to heal the heart and mother earth. Pierce students were featured in the roles of different archetypes and a dynamic performance was recorded on film which will be available for viewing soon!
2009 Eva's HAUNTED HEART SERIES featured at ART RAW GALLERY in West Chelsea, New York
2009 Eva's "Shaman" "Bobcat" and "Mountain Lion" auctioned recently at a CRLA FUNDRAISER on June 21, 2008 in Los Feliz, a star-studded event and a great cause. (2nd year she has auctioned her work to raise funds for this great organization.)
2009 "HAUNTED HEART - CAT" was aquired by collectors at the HEART TOUCH FUNDRAISER organized at TAG GALLERY in Santa Monica, CA
