Courtney Jordan has recently opened a new gallery in Los Angeles that bears her name, called Jordan Design Crew on Beverly Blvd. Besides exhibiting her own artwork at the location, she and her associates pool their extensive artistic and creative talents into a company that provides comprehensive interior design services with the possibility to commission in house artwork.
Courtney Jordan is a fine artist, illustrator and photographer whose work has been shown across the country and purchased by both private and corporate collectors.
She has been painting since childhood, and her love of painting and composition helps her bring an acute sense of color to her interior design projects.
As a designer her style is totally contemporary and cutting edge, forged on the foundation of a classically trained artist and designer that, when combined, lend simplicity and clarity to her work.
Her paintings are mostly figurative portraits of friends, acquaintances and well know people as caricature fictional characters. They are not photographic realistic renderings. Courtney infuses her work with her own understanding and feel for the person, each portrait done from a distinct perspective with vibrant colors and sharp, stark lines. The expressions of her characters reveal and mystify at the same time, as if the artist has discovered something about the subject that she’ll protect and conceal, yet give a hint as to the hidden identity that she has seen.
Upon completion of her BFA at the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design and further studies in France, she moved to Los Angeles and began working on commercials and music videos. Her artwork has been incorporated and featured in several productions.
It was the demand for her skills as an interior designer and artist that led her to open the gallery in Los Angeles. The location serves as an atelier, exhibition space and as an office where new design projects are prepared and developed for an appreciative clientele.
She has already completed various interiors in both residential and hospitality buildings in the Los Angeles area. While currently spending most of her time in LA, Courtney travels often to her second home in Carmel, CA where she also has a studio.
Courtney Jordan accepts commissions for portraits and commissions for artworks as part of overall interior designs.
