Alexander Sadoyan comes from the land of the Great Kingdoms of Urartu and Cilicia. Born in 1954 in Yerevan, Armenia, he graduated in 1975 from Terlemezian Art College of Fine Arts and joined the Artist’s Union of the Republic of Armenia and the International Association of Arts of the United Nations/ UNESCO. Since 1996 he resides in Los Angeles, California, USA where he continues to create his art with vigor and dedication.
He has displayed his paintings in more than 100 personal and group exhibitions around the world. His compositions are rebellious, executed with a sensational palette, infused with intelligent beauty, which transport the viewer to an enchanting plane of fantasy where dreams and unrestrained visions balance between complex meaning of colors, and unfettered freedom of sacred expressions.
Sadoyan’s paintings are a festival of vibrant and rich colors metamorphosing in eloquent lines, curves, free-spirited compositions and un-announced visions. His art seem to move constantly on the canvases, with swirling colors and forms weaving patterns that draw together the final composition. Themes and conceptual states of mind and soul are expressed in a rhythmic nonchalance that engages the viewer’s mind and delights the senses.
“I paint forms and shapes to convey energy and spiritual condition. The colors and rhythms become the theme. The images are put together in a dreamlike sequence to reinforce the realty of metaphysical world. Forces of nature and mysterious inner life of mankind are themes that have been constant in my work. My paintings are inspired from the human life in conjunction with landscape of nature's abstract color-forms. With association of color and shapes, I strive to communicate my feelings and convey inner-personal emotions.”
Alexander’s works can be found in private collections throughout USA, France, Germany, Canada, England, Italy, Japan, Russia, Switzerland, Korea,China, Norway and Lebanon. His artworks have been published in Art World News, World Art Celebrities Journal (Berlin) Art Business, ArtScene, Art&Frame Review, Armenian Art magazines, catalogues and many newspapers. He was chosen artist of the month World Art Celebtities Journal (2003); Digital Color Awards (2008); Art'Majeur Silver Awards (2007); Best of the Artists (2008) - Kennedy publishing.
