Ahmed Belmadani was born in Tangier, a very beautiful city in the north of Morocco, a city which inspired Delacroix, Matisse and so many others.
Belmadani studied art at L’Institut Superieur des Beaux Arts and for the past twenty years he has been creating artworks in different mediums. During that time he has participated in numerous voluntary programs as an Arts instructor.
The work of Belmadani reflects the artist’s endless pursuit of truth. To truly understand his subject, the artist must look beyond façade and seek its inner beauty. It must be shown for what it is in bold firm lines, in clear form and in strength of colors. Human passions and emotions demand a passionate palette to justly render true expression to the struggles inside the human beings. A visual artist is like a poet whose words are colors, lines and shapes. When he brings them together in harmony they compose a visual poem that portrays the subject as truthfully and as succinctly as possible.
“For me, art is a state of mind. You are making art only when you ‘wrap’ a beautiful emotion.”
Ahmed Belmadani has recently settled in California. Many of his artworks are in private collection cross Europe, Africa and Middle East.
"Celui qui ignore la poésie ne connaît pas la route de l'intelligence qui conduit à la sagesse par les degrés de la science et de l'art."
